3 simple ways to identify the quality of calcium sulphate raised flooring

According to European standard for raised flooring EN12825, there are many test elements in laboratory condition, but for calcium sulphate access floor, beside the key element testing, is there any simple ways to identify the quality of the product? As a professional manufacture of calcium sulphate raised floor, hereafter 3 simple ways may be very useful to identify the quality issue of calcium sulphate access floor.    


Color and exterior appearance


Exterior appearance is the simplest way to see the quality of raw materials, for calcium sulphate access floor, the main raw materials are gypsum powder, plant fiber, additive and water. The pure gypsum is calcium sulphate dihydrate, mixed with water , the chemical reaction happened, it changes to calcium sulphate hemihydrate, so the structure strength is there, The color of the core board is light brown, Some factories put more recycled calcium sulphate hemihydrate into the raw material, thus the core board of the panel will look like white and weak, even some of the factory add more recycled cement into the raw material, so the core board appears light grey which is surely affect the internal strength.

Weight of the panel


To ensure the loading performance of the floor panel and control the cost, the workable density of the floor panel is very important. For example, the standard dimension of calcium sulphate floor panel is 600x600x30mm, the weight of the panel from our products is around 18-18.5 kgs for each panel. Some factories offer 17kgs/pc which means the density is not there, and some are offering more than 19kgs/pc, it shows there are too much recycle material is added.


Loading and deflection


Among all the testing indicators, the loading performance is the most important, most of the suppliers can offer qualified products according to required loading performance, but beside loading indicator, the deflection and rebound of the panel is also should be considered. If the raised floor panel is too hard and none-tenacity, the floor panel is easy to break under the certain load. We guarantee 2mm deflection for calcium sulphate floor.
