What’s the test method for anti-static raised flooring

Updated: Aug 18, 2020

Anti-static raised access floor system includes access floor panel with electrostatic protection, ant-static laminated floor coverings, and pedestal system. The main material of the access floor core board is All steel cementitious infilled panel, chipboard wood panel, Calcium sulphate floor panel, and the laminate surface covering has HPL, ESD vinyl tile, Rubber, Ceramic tile etc. It is widely applied for computer room, data center, dust-free workshop, control room, office building etc. the applicable standard is GB/T36340-2018 from Chinese ICQ and EN12825 from European standard.

Beside the general specifications, for example Appearance dimension, Static loading and rolling loading performance, Fire and chemical specifications, The key point of anti-static access floor is resistance to the earth for electrostatic protection, that means the resistance from any point from the top of the floor panel to the pedestal system which is well connected to the earth should be in a certain level. Hereafter is the detailed introduction of the method from anti-static testing.

The condition of the testing should be in the temperature of 23℃±3℃ and the relative humidity is 50%±5%, the testing sample should be put in the condition room for 24 hours before testing and assemble the testing sample as the structure ref to picture: 1, Resistance tester, 2, Testing sample, 3, Metal electrode, 4, Pedestal system.

Follow the instruction from the picture, firstly wire connect the resistance tester, metal electrode and pedestal, Select any five of the points from the top of the floor panel, Set up the initial test voltage as 10V,if the resistance to the earth R≤105Ω, thus the test value  is the final result. if the resistance to the earth R>105Ω, then re-set up the testing voltage to 100V, the testing result is the final. Collect the five testing results and work out the average, it the final testing result of the resistance to the earth.
